New Additions

This weekend while Nick was in South Carolina with his family, I went on a little crazy shopping spree...mostly for home goods, not for me. Saturday was an errand-packed day with Danielle, who helped me pick out the new color for our downstairs bathroom. I have decided that it's time to start personalizing our home and I want to repaint pretty much everything. The previous owners liked bold, dark colors, while I prefer a lighter palette. The decorating process is going to have to be done in baby steps. The whole house would cost a lot to paint, especially considering we're shopping for a lot of new furniture as well. Lots to buy!

Sunday some friends and I went to brunch and then headed to Urban Market which is an outdoor antique show. It had some pretty good stuff but a lot of it was overpriced. All the tents had really neat setups and it was great to be outside on such a beautiful day. We all came away with some good loot. The purchase/project I am most excited about is a chair I bought for our little desk nook in the upstairs landing.

The seller reupholstered the seat but the wood needs to be refinished so I am going to have a little weekend project very soon. I loved the shape of it and it was a steal! The other chairs that I have been looking at have been over $100 and another one that I liked at the show was over $300. What the !?!? I had no idea chairs were so pricey.

Nick doesn't come back until Tuesday, which makes this the longest we have been apart since we have been married. I am definitely missing him. I think Zoey misses him too but loves having his side of the bed and couch :)
