It's cold in Wisconsin

coming from texas, wisconsin in jan is one cold...shut your mouth. court and i flew into chicago last thursday for the weekend. i had a company event on sat and we decided to make a little fun weekend out of it. we have been traveling a lot but we might as well do it while we can.

chicago is one of the greatest cities in the US. court and i have made a few trips here in the past 4 years and each time we like it more and more. so we flew into ohare thursday, hit up a great sushi/asian fusion place called niu or nui.... i don't remember but it is right near the the navy pier. then hit up lucky strike for some bolwing and a few drinks. that place is awesome. hit the sack kinda early that night.















the next day we did some shopping and meandered around the city. court had to hit up H&M because we don't have them in texas. i don't mind shopping as long as the place has a bench or couch for me to chill out in. had italian for lunch at Voltare and it was the best pasta i have had in a long time. the vodka sauce is the best I have ever had, I was jealous of courtney's order. we met a friend of mine and his wife for work and went to gibson's steakhouse friday night. for those of you who don't know, Gibson's is always rated one of the best restaurant's in the country, it was fantastic. we saw a judge that is on tv (last time i went there I saw the rev jessie jackson) and a couple of chicago bear's were there. it is the place to be seen in chicago. johnnie depp was there a few months ago, ran up a $2500 tab then tipped his waiter $2500. that's cool. after dinner we hit up the john hancock building for the lounge on the 95th floor, awesome views, awfully expensive drinks.

we went into lake geneva, wisconsin and stayed at a lodge for my company party. it was fun. we one of those funny drawings made of us, maybe court will post a pic of it. it's ridiculous. it was nice to have courtney meet my coworkers. everyone asked courtney "what the heck are you doing with him?" whats up with that? i am lucky and she is beautiful.

i took court back to the airport on sunday and national sales meeting here in wisconsin this week. so we are apart again, makes me miss her so much when we aren't together. i miss her laugh and i miss her smile....
we have a busy weekend with wedding stuff. we have to get our registry together and i hate shopping so pray for me...
